Combining Hebrew along with American Sign Language,  the  essence  of monotheism  is distilled to a single icon.  The Hebrew “Shema”, meaning hear or listen forms the palm of a hand signing “One G-d.” A finger-spelled “G”  is rotated 90 degrees upward into the number “one.”
